WOMEN DEVELOPMENT CENTERS: A Solution to Reduce Women’s Dependency on Government Offices— Commissioner HOD

The Honorable Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children, and Disabled, Amina Abdullahi Sani, HOD, has stated that well-equipped and functional Women Development Centers across Kano State’s 44 Local Government Areas will significantly reduce the influx of women visiting government offices in search of assistance.

During a visit to the Gaya Women Development Center today, Commissioner Sani emphasized that these centers are strategically positioned to provide women with essential support services, guidance, and resources.

“When fully equipped and supported by Local Government Chairmen, these centers will serve as one-stop solutions for women, addressing their needs and challenges at the grassroots level,” she said.

“This will not only empower women but also reduce the need for them to seek help from various government offices, saving them time and effort.”

The Commissioner noted that the Ministry is committed to strengthening these centers to better serve women, children, and persons with disabilities across the state.

She charged Women Development Officers managing the Women Development Centers across the state to effectively manage these centers and introduce innovative initiatives that empower women.

. “I urge you to be creative and proactive in managing these centers, identifying new opportunities for women’s empowerment and economic development,” she said
