SERVICOM DIRECTORATE KANO PAYS UNSCHEDULED VISITS TO MDAs TO PROMOTE EFFECTIVE SERVICE DELIVERY

As part of its mandate to uphold accountability and improve service delivery across government institutions, SERVICOM Directorate, Kano, under the leadership of its Overseer, Director Tahir Garba, carried out another round of unscheduled monitoring visits to Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the state.

During the visit to the Ministry of Land and Physical Planning, the SERVICOM team was impressed by the ongoing renovation work at the premises, a project spearheaded by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf. Director Tahir Garba commended the visionary leadership of the Governor, describing the development as a significant stride toward infrastructural transformation and a strong reflection of government’s commitment to the people.

However, the visits also revealed gaps in staff attendance. At the time of the monitoring exercise, no personnel were found on duty at the State Pension Trust Fund and the Ministry of Rural and Community Development, a situation SERVICOM considers unacceptable in the drive for efficient governance.

Elsewhere, limited staff presence was recorded in the following institutions:

Kano State Water Board

Ministry of Land and Physical Planning

Kano Geographic Information System (KANGIS)

Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board (KSSSSMB)
Municipal Zonal Education Directorate

Kano Quranic and Islamiyya Schools Management Board

Director Garba emphasized that SERVICOM’s goal is to encourage efficiency, not to witch-hunt, urging all government employees to uphold professionalism, punctuality, and a strong sense of public duty. He assured that the Directorate will continue to conduct routine and spontaneous inspections to ensure citizens receive the quality of service they deserve.
