PRESS RELEASE

SERVICOM DIRECTORATE KANO EXPRESSES DISMAY OVER LATENESS TO WORK BY MANAGEMENT STAFF IN AUDU BAKO SECRETARIAT

The SERVICOM Directorate, Kano State, has expressed deep concern over the lack of punctuality by some management staff in various ministries located within the Audu Bako Secretariat.

During an unannounced monitoring visit to several ministries today, the Directorate observed with dismay that a number of key officials were absent from their duty posts at the official resumption time.

The MDAs visited included the Ministry of Information—where the Director of Administration and General Services (DAGS) and one Director were present—the Office of the Auditor General, the Civil Service Commission, the Ministry for Special Duties, the Ministry of Justice (where only the Director of Legislative Drafting was in attendance), the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Local Government, and the Ministry of Budget and Planning, where only four staff members were found present.

SERVICOM Kano reiterates its commitment to promoting efficient service delivery and upholding the principles of accountability and professionalism within the public service. The Directorate calls on all government workers, especially those in management positions, to lead by example and adhere strictly to work ethics, including punctuality.

Further monitoring will continue, and appropriate reports will be forwarded to the relevant authorities for necessary action.
