Kano Strengthens International Trade Relations
In a renewed effort to position Kano State as a leading hub for business and investment, the Honourable Commissioner for Investment, Commerce, Industry and Cooperative, Gwani Shehu Wada Sagagi, alongside the Kano State Liaison Officer, Salman Bello Indabawa, embarked on strategic diplomatic engagements with key foreign missions in Abuja.
The delegation paid a special courtesy visit to the Ambassador of Chad, where discussions centered on deepening bilateral trade relations and exploring fresh opportunities for economic cooperation.
Commissioner Sagagi noted that with Kano’s long-standing reputation as the commercial nerve center of West Africa, the state is uniquely positioned to attract global partnerships in trade, manufacturing, and investment.
The engagements also created opportunities to discuss potential collaborations in agriculture, textiles, infrastructure, and human capital development, sectors that remain central to Kano’s growth strategy.
Speaking during the visit, Mr. Indabawa reaffirmed that the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is committed to creating an enabling environment for investors and building mutually beneficial partnerships with the international community.
These high-level visits underscore Kano’s proactive approach to strengthening global trade ties and advancing its broader economic transformation agenda.
